The problem is usually too much pressure on the nut (maybe a wing nut) that holds the wire spool in place. It doesn't matter whether you measure amps or volts because it' the watts (power) that make heat. A 120V MIG welder turned all the way up will put out about 90A at 18V, around 1600W. By the way the 125 is pretty dam powerful. I am having problems with my welder, its a Lincoln SP250 welder (ditigal version). I am getting a lot of sticking and "blast off" with weld porosity. The weld are are narrow and ropy, the gun are "kicking" back at me. I changed the liner, tip and nozzle. This last weekend I had to do some more repair work again on an auger in one of our large potato bins- differnent bin then last time. This time so that I didn t have to bring in my HH 135 the boss rented me a machine. The only machine that was available was a Lincoln Sp 135 Plus.I am going to look at a Lincoln SP 125 Plus later this afternoon and wondered if there is anything I should pay particular attention to. Does this machine have any quirks? The machine comes with a bottle, not sure of the size or if it is full or not, and the asking price $250.Nov 1, 2008 · I have an SP135+, a slightly newer version of the 125+. It usually feeds OK but every once in a while it will go in fits and starts. The problem is usually too much pressure on the nut (maybe a wing nut) that holds the wire spool in place. But check the whole feed path - only takes a minute or two. .
